CanWest DHI launches Profit Profiler
dairy financial analysis service

Guelph, ON, September 16, 2008

After completing a pilot study with 40 herds in collaboration with a group of Ontario dairymen from the Progressive Dairy Operators, CanWest DHI launches a new and innovative dairy financial analysis service. The Profit Profiler combines both financial and physical aspects of managing a dairy business and provides valuable benchmark information that ranks your dairy business against peer groups and also allows you to estimate the outcome of potential changes.

"Previously there have been no benchmarking tools available to dairy producers enabling them to measure their success and profitability", says Bill Grexton, Manager of Herd Management Services at CanWest DHI, and coordinator for the Profit Profiler program. "Producers were asking for this information and DHI's expertise in collection and analysis of data to provide management information, made this a perfect fit. A DHI specialist works with each dairy producer to collect the data required and also reviews the reports to ensure that the producer is clear on the results." Grexton adds, "As well as being able to compare their dairy businesses with peer groups, the Profit Profiler program has "What If" options that enable them to predict the financial outcome of potential changes and identify their best option to increase their bottom line."

Profit Profiler is not just getting attention from progressive dairy producers - agricultural accounting firms and financial institutions are also showing great interest in adding the Profit Profiler to the portfolio of services they can offer to their clients. The factual assessment of the current financial status of the business, combined with the fact based projections for financial outcome of change are exactly the type of information that financial advisors are looking for to confirm that their client's plans for expansion are realistic.
